Last long run 8 mar (19 miles @ 8min pace), but picked up a knee injury and trained very lightly since then.  Weekly mileage for last two weeks has been 14 then 22 miles, and injury seems to have cleared up.  Ran a marathon in Feb as well (3h30 but had been aiming for 3h15) so have some miles in the bank from back then.  Quickest long runs in Jan were about 20 miles @ 7.40.

Originally had planned to defer VLM.  After Boston I feel like I have the need to run.  Solidarity, not being terrorized into staying at home, etc etc.

What are your thoughts?  Do I have enough mileage behind me to run around 3.30-3.45?

Last year I did all my marathon long runs first thing in the morning, as a way of running to work.  So leaving between 6.00 and 6.30 and getting up to 21 miles or so.  Was a fantastic way to start the day.  First time I did it I felt pretty knackered all day at work, but I soon got used to it.

I've developed pain and soreness on the arch of one of my feet. It feels a bit like a bruise or something, but there's nothing visible externally. It can be a little painful to walk, and also to stretch/flex the arch.

I've started icing and no difference. Any ideas what this is. I am desperately hoping that if I just lay off all running for a week or two it will go away. I am meant to be doing the Rotterdam marathon and feel gutted that this has just flared up now!

Hi

I received an entry to this year's marathon from my club.  I have been injured an am now unable to use my club place.  I had assumed that club entries cannot be deferred, but i am now lead to believe that this is not the case, and that club entries can be deferred.

Earlier this week, to make doubly sure that I did not try anything stupid like attempting to enter and run the marathon, I threw away all of the registration stuff they sent out.  Now, understanding that I could've deferred my place, I feel like screaming!

a) is it true that I can defer a club entry to next year

b) any ideas for how to do this without the registration form.  Is it possible?  Is it worth contacting them, going down to the expo in person, etc?

Thanks, any advice welcomed.
