What can i say...... just got back from supporting my hubbie on this one, we've both done london marathon so only have that to compare anything to

Firstly why is it called the Edinburgh marathon when it isn't even in edinburgh, and that was from our hotel receptionist!!!!, so after gettin 2 buses to the finish, i found there were no crowds and no sign posts... luckily a nice police man pointed me in the right direction to the finish, just as well really it was fairly quiet for a big city marathon which really shocked me and then when the runners began coming thru thicj n fast the looks i got from other spectater just because i was shouting support for particular charities and runners with their names on vests were unbelievable. A scotish women next to me even said not like the london marathon is it....... if it hadn't been for us there was total silence on our part of the finish. I was disgusted when a runner fell on the home straight and there were no organisers to help and another runner had to assist him and another who fell and was helped by a member of the publc who jumped over the barrier to assist as he rolled around the floor.

From hubby & his friends point of view the course was terrible terrain, the constant crossing over of the relay runners caused him to fall over at one point and others in front of him. i know its nice to get everyone involved but do the organisers not realise the lack of concontration u get during a marathon especially in that heat.  He reckons there weren't enough wayer stations and if hadn't been for a couple of kids towards the end handing out water.......

After the race what was the whole trek to get baggage etc through that silly gate, one runner fainted in front of me in that crown and i head another runner comment how the situation was another hilsbourgh waiting to happen in that heat with people already suffering..... madness!!!

i'm sorry to moan but this even had less organisational skills af a local 10km, i;m sorry for all of those who thought that the even was a success and enjoyed it, we defo won't be going back and i;m not the only one as a friend of mine has echoed my comments who ran last year.

again i'm sorry
