I am running FLM 06 for The Big Issue Foundation. This is the fantastic charity behind The Big Issue newspaper and it helps people affected by homelessness to get control of their lives and to find permanent homes and jobs.
I used to be a management consultant – one of those slick guys in a suit, always on a plane. You know the type? Then I made some career choices that resulted in me losing everything, the flat in Holland Park, the gorgeous girlfriend, etc, etc and very nearly became homeless myself. Things have been improving since I took up running but this showed me that homeless people are not just hopeless cases who will never be able to cope. Many of them have just had a run of very bad luck. I came to the conclusion that the prospect of being homeless was closer than most people think.

I’d really appreciate your help with a donation of £10 to The Big Issue Foundation. If you do so quickly you could be the first! This charity really does change people’s lives, and they are ordinary people like you and me. Donate through my site here: www.justgiving.com/gideonmarathon
