hey all... just had a week off... that 15 last monday did more harm than good... knee pain... it band.... nightmare! but i have been here before... 5 sundays left so would ideally like to hit a big one in a couple of weeks... but hey ho... !

on a positive not, i went to spin on monday and it was fine... got some new trainers too... so i am going to stretch out 2 miles tonight after work and see how it goes. I should be able to up my cross trianin from here on in... so i can keep up my general fitness and hope for the best.... sat at work with an ice pack on my knee doing all i can to get the swelling down... I think i have time. I have a 17 under my belt, and three 15's. I am fit and have a strong mind... and ultimately that will get me through the uncharted territory!

Good to see everyone doing well in their training!

Red... have you looked into the anti-inflamatories and impact on asthma? I have a pack on ibuprofen on my desk and point 2 of the 'do not take' list relates to worsening symptoms of asthma!

Needless to say the ibuprofen on my desk are clearly related to my run last night! Managed 15 miles.....comfortably, just starting to have problems with my left knee... i know what it is... tight IT band/runners know.... ibuprofen, massage, ice...... we'll see... averaged 5.38 km splilts.... i think it was 2h 20m.. i know i hit 21k on 2hours dead.... to the second!

Going to rest a couple of days... may do a mile or so tomorrow..

Hey all.... sounds like some ups and downs out there?

Red... hows the chest?

my milage for last week was a grand total of 12! so i have decided that last week is actually 8 days long and extends to today, so i am going to do my LSR tonight after work... 15 ish... well, as far as i can before my ladyfreind comes round at 8.15pm!

I did 10k last night... in 48.46, which i was quite please about... but a couple of little niggles, so i will see how i get on tonight..... I have 5 sundays well 6 if i include tonight.. left for Brighton so i reckon 15, 17, 19, 20/21, 14, 8..... something like that.... but if i can get more than 15 in tonight, i will probably jiggle that about a bit... the best thing about running your second marathon is knowing you can do it....and knowing that my longest LSR before London in 2010 was a hilly 17, it gives me a bit of confidence, especially knowing that i am lighter and fitter as standard.

The stuff they have at the hospital is industrial shizzle designed for pressure sores which can be cut perfect to size.... its helped me in the past... they may give you a bit extra too... it may be worth a visit.... my local minor injuries is awesome for things like that..

hey red... just read on your blog about your asthma... dairy plays a big part for me... and as i am sure i've said before, my asthma is allegergy induced, not exercise... Dairy is well known for causing problems.... also, ibuprofen??
