ive worn the 1140s and currently use the 1150s, both are good trainers and both offer width in the toe box. Im a big Asics fan and recently went for gait analysis after the heelbox in my 1140s went (lots of use), I tried virtually every trainer in the shop and came full circle to the 1150s - i love the shoe and run mostly road so Im bound to recommend them. I've never had blisters with Asics, but then again i have the skin of a rhino on my feet!

 Hope this helps

I had a similar problem when I first started running, both my calves would tighten like a vice and make it very uncomfortable to run.

I took myself down to my local running shop where i was given gait analysis, the new shoes i was fitted were perfect and my tight calves dissapeared overnight. It turned out the heel box on my old trainers had gone (you could actually hear the difference when i ran on the treadmill), which meant that my heel was lower than my forefoot and causing me the calf pain.

It may not be the same cause but gait analysis is great if you intend on running lots.

All the best

Socks.

id say listen to your body, as long as your just running and not doing silly things like pumping iron then dont hold back and also remember that rest is as important as running itself.

Good healthy exercise is a gift and i only wish i was 13 with as much enthusiasm as you!

i use mapmyrun - its a bit advert heavy but the features are quite good in as much as you can precisely map where you run and add all your workouts to it - gym/run/bike etc.

I also had gait analysis done for the first time about 2 weeks ago - very worthwhile (and i can recommend Leicester Running Shop if you live near here.

im doing the 5k here in hinckley, i would have done the 10k but the wife and my little boy are doing the mile so i didnt want them to be hanging around too long.

im quite looking forward to it - tom (3 3/4) has been in training - he runs round the block with me before i go for my run - he absolutly loves it!!
