Just to let you all know that there is a new race in Luton. It is an off road 5 or 10 mile race which although it is off road, the trail is pretty firm.
It has some testing hills and some very rewarding fast downhill sections.
Ideal practice for the XC season - so why not If you are free on 16th October.

Well in 6 weeks I have a half ironman which will be my first half. However the focus will be the Olympic distance qualification race in 5 weeks.
i train primarily for sprint and oly distance as that's what suits best time wise.
i have just started working in the city so I have lost 2hours + per day travelling.
i would like to keep my levels of fitness up and even improve them even though my training time has reduced. Is this possible? I have been told I have to cut out junk miles, which will help.
anyone got any lunchtime workouts (20 - 30 mins) to smash either outside or in the gym?
Triathlon is my main focus. I am GB Age Group and competing from May - Sept.
I will be doing Duathlons from Feb - April in addition to run training.... no open water swims though - toooo cold until April
