I have a dalmatian - we ran 20 miles yesterday morning and she could have done the same again in the afternoon (which is more than could be said for me). Must be the duracell batteries.
There are only a few breeders in the UK and they have been difficult to breed with many cases of deafness, epilepsy and other problems. That said we have run into three rescue dalmatians in the last 6 months all lovely dogs.
Many of our runs are along the canal with rivers nearby so easy for watering the dog - but I also have a collapsible bowl, it looks like a beret and folds flat into my shorts pocket for emergencies, you can find them in pet shops. They're good for picnics etc as well.
There's an awesome ultra called the Comrades marathon, way longer but I don't know the details. It's been featured in RW magazine (about 12 months ago). Sure you could google this one.
