Pizzaman/Meerket - I wear Nike Pegasus. Have found wearing midsole more comfortable over orthotics which are two thirds long. I think they are made from polypropolene something or other! I have high arches and the support bit has just been adjusted by my podiatrist which has made them a bit more comfortable.

After finally going to podiatrist after suffering months of pain in ball of foot, and then shin splints I am now into my 3rd week of wearing orthotics. Just ran a mile on Saturday with them in and found it a struggle so would really appreciate any advice anybody has on how long it takes to get used to them. Feeling quite depressed as I stupidly thought I could just put them in and do my normal 6+ miles but now realise it could be a long process.

DanielB, make sure you get a dog that can be left on its own. My lab, bless her, if left alone just loves to chew anything thats been left in the same room as her, including, very annoyingly two pairs of trainers, slippers, and especially anything wooden!

Well done everyone. For those of you looking for another 10k, there is the St Clare Hospice one at Hastingwood, Essex on the 30th March. It is just off the M11, the exit for Harlow.
