I have found a good trick when it comes to event toilets. Go before you leave the house.
Most of the course was really good, quiet and well managed. A few of the footpaths were a bit narrow and running through some of the housing estates could have been better managed as we were crossing roads.
The final few miles were difficult when passing the 1/2 marathon tail enders and would have certainly added time on if you were trying to push the last miles.
I ran Nottingham as a pacer and wore both a 310XT and a 620. The 310 always over reads marathons for me by about 300m. The 620 recorded 42.28km
Not a bad event, good city feel to the run and a varied course.
The marshals, although encouraging and friendly, and yes I appreciate they are volunteers but the main purpose of their role is to direct runners. It's hard to criticise when a marshal is too busy clapping to point in the right direction but as a group of leading runners, this was the case on at least 10 of the turns.
Lots of kerbs, twists and turns, lots of pushchairs and shoppers in the way in the final section.
overall well organised and a good finish area, but agree with cups vs bags of water.
