that's a whole nother question brenda, and one for the running shope people to help you with, or the physio,

however, if you stand normally in barefeet, and check your arches, compared with pictures of normal arches and flat feet and high arches, you should get an idea yourself.

another thing you could do, woudl be ask someone to take a digital photo of your achilees as you stand barefoot, and then compare it to this one:

http://www.coconino.az.gov/uploadedFiles/Health/Education/Heartbeat/AWNwinter05.pdf#search=%22achilles%20tendon%20underpronation%22

the site contains advice on interperting your photo.

aye, go on, youre not too heavy.

would err against it only if you are very injury prone.

for longer races like the marathon, though, i might suggest running in a lightweight trainer racer such as one of similar design to the nike skylon.

little more cushioning, but still lighter.

this is a traditional kiddie question, because it's well hard to answer.

how about explaining in terms of glass and butter(or another similarly soft thing which hold its shape), and what happens to each when you hit them with a hammer. he knows glass is harder than butter, but also that glass shatters and butter doesnt.

say this is what happens to teeth, because they are harder, but like glass they shatter easier when hit with a strong thing like metal

maybe?

swimming.

possibly cyclic trainer/cross trainer machine, if it's not painful.

weights, particularly the ones you dont lift between your big toes, such as UPPER BODY WEIGHTS

best put on a little muscle instead of fat during your layoff,

you coudl also try cycling, if it's not sore.
