Good morning to all!
First day back to work after GNR. Well I did it, not fast, but there were still plenty of folks behind us!
Knee went funny about 4 miles and packed in about 7 so it was a walk and hobble for the rest of the way. Very annoyed I couldn't run but we did it!
Physio has said to lay off now, months rather than days.... oh well!
Thanks for all your support here, I think I shall bow out now and call in again when I start to trot again.
Very best wishes to all those who are a bit crook and good luck to those of you who are fit and well and running hard.
Best wishes, Norah
Hilary. |

Evening All!
Now I'm really scared.... must stop reading earlier posts! Hardly managed anything since end May early June.Doc and Physio said not to run or do GNR - Torn ligaments, cartilage shot to pieces. Too old and fat, but what the h*ll!Some things in life just gotta be done, I will NEVER do anything like this again, so ......I'M DOING IT!
PB? All I want to do is finish still standing on both feet! My dream of running all 13.?? miles has long gone, but I still WILL FINISH.
The strange thing is I'm really looking forward to it, although I know I won;t be able to walk for days afterwards.
Somebody has got to do a list of numbers and names - I shall be slow enough to find everybody and say Hi as they pass me!!
Off on holiday for two weeks on Sunday but I shall keep looking in.
Good Luck everybody - enjoy it and stay fit!

Welcome from a reasonably new newbie - last year, and quite a bit older! Virtually starting again after knee probs.
Enjoy yourself and listen to what the old bod is telling you - take it easy,to start with.Oddly enough it becomes addictive.... frustrating, horrid, great fun, sometimes all together. Loads of wonderful support all over this place, Mature thread is a great place to visit!
Whereabouts in Cumbria?
Happy plodding! Norah
