The weather was nice on Sunday, so I enjoyed the run and can imagine next week being good fun, so I'm going to do Liverpool.  I do have a spare for Wilmslow now if anyone wants to PM me (ideally for collection in Manchester!)

Thanks for all the responses, the runnersworld jury is most definitely pointing to Liverpool.  As luck would have it, my wife & I are spending this weekend in Liverpool, staying right on the river at the Malmaison, so I will have a little pootle out on Sunday morning.  If it charms me, then I'll be back the week after for the big race!

Any thoughts on where we should go for a gentle trot on the Sunday morning from the Malmaison (on Princes Dock)?

I have a place in the Liverpool half on 28/3 but my mate I intended to run with has pulled out.  I could get an entry for Wilmslow (from an injured friend) on the same day.  I've done Wilmslow twice before (and really enjoyed it) and have never run in Liverpool.

Wilmslow is much easier to get to/from (I live in Manchester) and wouldn't be such an early start after the clocks have gone back!

So I have a dilemma - a bit more hassle to do Liverpool or the easy option of Wilmslow.  Has anyone done both and have a view on what I should do?

that gives me some comfort!  Most training programmes you read seem to imply you are doing something 5-6 times a week.  Fitting family and work into that equation just doesn't fit...I notice the runners world smart coach throws up schedules around 3 runs, I may build something around that and bin the idea of any cross-training in 'spare' time.

At least I won't suffer from over-training...
