I'm in... but just in case any other incentive is needed for helpers to volunteer. There. Will. Be. CAKE!!! I'll be running but feel free to tuck into my muffins if your helping out!!! You know what to do - email email@example.com
I understand from a certain Sarah Guest that a full announcement WILL be made next week. And as for the route, I think it might go out towards edgbaston way before coming back into the city (probably down Broad St), but that's unsubstantiated rumour....
Let's just hope this isn't yet another false alarm for those of us who still want to enter
I have just called Coun Hassall but he's not around, and am beginning to itchy about this one too!
Would normally run Dublim Mara, but really wanted to run on home turf for once!! Although I don't doubt it will happen, I think it is cutting it a bit fine if the final details aren't announced in the next few weeks, as Divine rightly states, it's not a race people decide to run on a whim, it requires planning and training!
And if this isn't sorted soon the initial enthusiasm for event will be lost, and by time the World Championship comes round in 2009, it risks alienating B'ham's bouyant running community!
V. tired and v. tipsy after celebrating with mateys after a fantastic race. Shaved an excellent 15;35 off my previous 20m pb of 3:13, to finishi n 2:58:25... although last two miles were killer but definitely a confidence booster ahead of FLM Think the three course Italian feast and lapse in wine intake may have undone all the day's good work, but am still chuffed to bits! Off to bed now x
OK... following Halo's instructions I drove the course today, and am officially scared!!! Not entirely sure where the second and third laps are shortened, but the first 8 miles is certainly undulating. First hill is long rather than overtly steep, whereas the hill into and out of Salt are shorter but have a more noticeable gradient. Despite all that, if the threat of hail holds off and it's sunny on Sunday it should still be a good day. Feel free to pick me up if you see me staggering at the roadside...No.461 See you all there x
