Afternoon all, haven't been in for a while. I went to Florida for a couple of weeks, got five days of running in before injury stopped me dead in my tracks, I'm now almost three weeks without a run. Official diagnosis is shin splints as I thought, I've been told to try running again this week but I don't know if I will as I'm not convinced it will do me any good just yet. Still out on the bike and in the gym though so still ticking over.
far too much to read back on, but I hope everyone's injury free and running well! |

Decided to try something a bit faster today, my first speed session for two weeks. 8x4 mins with 2 min recoveries, was absolutely blowing after the first one but managed to do them all between 6:20 and 6:25 pace so was fairly pleased at the end.
I'm now off for two weeks of sunshine, will still be training but won't be popping in as much. Hope everyone's injury free when I return. |

Hope everyones's steering clear of the bench and that training is going well.
6 easy miles today, first run since Wokingham that I've really enjoyed, was starting to get into a rut with the niggles. Lovely and warm around Bushy Park and I could have easily done more had I not been on my lunch break. I'm off to Florida for two weeks on Saturday and my case is already packed full of running gear, hardly any room for anything else I'm hoping two weeks in the sun will revitalise me for the spring season.
Good luck to all those racing or running long this weekend. |

Sorry to hear that, Teknik, hope it all clears up soon.
I managed four slow miles last night and six at 8:30 pace today, plus another 17 on the bike. I think it's actually my achilles that's causing the discomfort. The ten miles were ok but I was aware of it, just need to take it easy for the moment I guess but at least I'm running.
