Hi All, The race is now full. All entries I received up to today (Wednesday 19th Dec) have a place. I have shut Online entry also. Any entries received after today will not have a place and their cheques will not be cashed. We have just over 50 cheques to bank so do not worry if its not cashed. A full list of entries will be on Newport Running Club website hopefully sometime tomorrow. Cheers Sandy Mackenzie Newport & District RC |

Sorry all, We've got two big race entries coming in at the same time so I've left the Wheaton Aston ones until this week mainly. Entries are about the 250 mark so half full. We'll get the full list of entries on our website by this weekend. Cheers Sandy Mackenzie Newport & District RC |

| Many thanks to runners who have given us feedback about the Carnival 10k race. We give a total of 50 prizes for the event as well as a goody bag containing whatever we can get donated. The value of the goody bag this year was about £1:50 plus free entry into the Carnival Events in the afternoon (normally £2). Many races don't give either as many category prizes, or anything at the finish apart from a drink of water in a plastic cup. We think the race is not too expensive and the profits each year - around £500 go to local junior schools to help them encourage running and keeping fit, as well as other local good causes. So its a balance between what we spend on prizes and goody bags versus what we give to charity. Let us know if you think we've got this horribly wrong. That said, the points made about a race momento in some of the feedback is something we'll give some thought to for next year. Dr. Glenn MacDonald-Jones, Race Organiser. |
