PH HIYA!,
You can say that again! I was at the Robin Hood yesterday - not running unfortunately, but 12 months ago there is no way I would have thought that getting up early to cheer on a bunch of (obviously seriously deranged) runners, I would have laughed at you. I was down to do the half, but backed out due to illness= lack of training. My hubby ran it though and several friends including ones that started running with me! Feel gutted I didn't do it. Chuffed with my hubby, he did Marathons years ago when he was a super fit hunky squaddie and got good times, yesterday with a small amount of training he did it in 4:40, not too bad for an 'older' guy, well older than me anyway! Ihave continued running on and off and regularly do 6 miles at a time. Never in a million years did I think this was possible!
Hubby said he hates running and has no intention of keeping it up ....... that was until we just checked out the results and he thinks he can do better next year, HA HA! |

Hi Hoose Goer,
Michelle here (RFG) sorry to hear about your loss. I know for me when I lost my dad I didn't have time to greive for him, I had to organise everything and look after everyone else. By time that was done it felt too late and I kept putting off dealing with it. Getting involved with the RFG was a totally positive experience for me in that I did face up to losing him and changed my life for the better, stopping smoking and starting exercising etc. Everyone has diffent ways of coping with loss I hope you find one that works for you and yours. X
Take care |

HI Everyone,
I know it's been ages since I posted, but I am still adjusting to life post Marathon and Camera Crew in tow etc. Back to work on the tuesday, proudly limping with me medal and t-shirt (which by the end of the first week was rather pongy).
I went for my first Pst Mara run yesterday, now that I can walk normally I thought I'd give it a bash - very gentle jog for 25 minutes and a little walk after.
It's really weird because people (who probably didn't think I'd do it) have been coming up to me and saying things like - You have inspired me, if you can do it I'm going to do something about my lifestyle too! This is great to hear and I have no intention of returning to my pre Mara lifestyle, get this I WANT TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!! I never thought I would say that.
Anyhow, I have to dash loads to do.
