I hope this event dosn't suffer as there seems to be something wrong with the RW listings. I was looking for a 10k for this weekend and did a search on distance from home, and Sussex and South. For some reason it dosn't show up. I only found it later ,on another 'local event' website and that had alink to Runners World and it took me to the event. Otherwise I would not have known it was on.

I tried on loads of stability ones becos thats what I was told I needed for over pronation, then the shop confused me by saying although I have low arches stability shoes will be a waste of time because of how I plant my foot........Don't want to waste £50 to £100 on shoes that won't work!!

Can anyone suggest some shoes - Although my arches appear normal in a wet test they collapse when I run, the left more than the right. A physio suggested Brooks Adrenaline/Saucony Omni for support, but then the running shop said I am a mid foot striker so shouldn't wear rigid shoes and should have more cushioning. Will a more rigid shoe slow me down (I'm already slow enough) and being very slight in build I dont want anything too heavy.

My son is a very promising sprinter, AAA grade 1, his success has been cut short by a knee problem, diagnosed as Osgood Schlatters by a physio. Lots of conflicting advice on websites. Some say refrain from activity, some say run through it. He tried running through it yesterday and ended up with what looked like 2 knee caps on one leg, and very bad swelling which we iced. He could not walk yesterday. ~Grateful for any advice, or if anyone can point us in the right direction for treatment.
