I was wondering if anyone has any tips on the best types of yoga for runners or if pilates is better? Which would offer the most benefits when it comes to increasing flexibility? Presumably yoga but there seems to be quite a few different types so does anyone have any advice on which is most suited to runners?

there is no end result. Even when you pb you look for the next one!

...that's what I meant - you's don't see it as an end result - it's always a step onwards even if it's not a pb

Agreed ...and kind of enjoying at the moment just getting back into the races and seem to have changed how I see them - seeing them as a step in training rather than an end result! That appears to be the way fasties like yourselves see them - even the main races you aim for?

SG - the level of commitment I'd need to put together to get in the thick of the times on this thread boggles my mind!

Quick de-lurk (as a pal of Stevie G and having also been at the Shinfield 10k) to say well done to Dachs for winning! There seemed to be a lot of talk about the heat but I can't say I really felt it affected my own race, though it definitely was warm. Nice quick course so cheers to Stevie G for steering me away from Chalgrove to do this one instead!
