Hi Alan - this was my first ever 10 miler and I was just really delighted to finish it. Some great craic along the way and a brilliant atmosphere. Thought the goody bag was great - cool long sleeved t shirt and a wee bottle of wine - what more could you want?
Despite the hills I enjoyed and will def be applying pronto for next year!!

Nice one!

Feel your pain - finish here tomorrow and heading for new job. Worked really hard to get everything sorted and am now just tired and lacking motivation! Also had a big fat lunch so heading for snoozeville!

Hi Peahead - I also feel that when I am having a tough time personally, I just want to shut up shop and lie in my bed moping. I can think of nothing more than a good book, trash TV and chocolate to cheer me up!! It does not of course but merely perpetuates the depressive cycle!

I had a horrible time at the weekend - will not bore you with the details but I spent Monday and Tuesday in bed feeling sorry for myself and miserable! Did not go to any of my running club meetings because it was the last thing I thought I wanted to do. Was finally forced to go by a friend last night and it has cheered me up so much I cannot tell you!! I had missed the chat and the post run buzz and catching up on the goss!! In one hour of running, I feel totally revitalised!! I know this can happen to you too - all it takes is a decent run!!

Good luck to you and hope you get over this - I love the quote about "the only way out is through". Keep smiling! x

Thanks Super Caz - have been looking into various classes and they have Tai Chi in the sports club down the road from me so gong to make seom enquiries! It just made such a difference when I concentrated on relaxing but I tend to let my mind wander and before I knew it.........

I really like the smiling idea!! It is a very positive thing to do and will either cheer others up or really irritate them!! Either way it would cheer me up!! Thanks for that one!!

I shall go home and work on my mysterious smile!
