long time no write ...

1st off - the footy - what a game and what a result against the dingles in their backyard last night - awesome and hopefully enough now to get what we need from the last 3 - Norwich Away, Soton Home, QPR Away - even the baggies can't miss this opportunity - can they ?

As for the marathon, hope everyone's race went well.

My target was 4.20 - 4.30 and at 2.08 for 13.1 I was on track ... until my ********* left knee went at Mile 14 (same as last year when training and had to defer to this year  but the other knee). Ran on in pain until Mile 19, had to stop, stretch, walk /run for 3 miles and then somehow jogged the embankment to finish in 5.02.38 - totally gutted !! (Yeah I know I did it and beat my 2006 time by 24 mins but it was going so well ...)

Anyway, after being down and in pain for much of Monday, I got onto the London site and entered for next year  .   Hope to do one in October (Leicester or Dublin me thinks , subject to a good summers training.

Off to the physio Friday !!

BlooBird - you still gotta chance of 6th place me thinks ?

Bluebird,

Well played today mate, enjoy the final ...

My thoughts on yesterday - great prematch in the Green Man until it all kicked off and someone was stabbed in the leg (at which point we headed off to the ground !). Stadium itself - crap from t he outside, awesome inside - couldn't fault the view or facilities, but its not build to hold an atmosphere - noise just disappears for some strange reason ?

Pity we aren't in final ... plenty of possession, no real killer touch though we had a few chances ... Didn't see the Baros handball in the build up to their goal as it was up the other end but saw it on tele - pity the ref and linesman didn't see it ...

Still, back to the league on Tuesday , Blackpool away, Watford at Home, Wolves away - 3 games to focus the minds on promotion !!!

Boing Boing ...

4 day tube strike planned though they are in talks to avert it ...

Will take a draw to be honest (and no injuries !!)

Training has gone OK - tweak again in hip yesterday so did 10.5 instead of planned 12 but OK today ...

Winding down now, lots of pasta in the cupboard !!

Hopefully looking forward to 2 great consecutive weekends in London !!

Bluebird,

Pehaps with the exception of Barnsley, all 3 other clubs have a minority who given a chance are up for it with anyone !

Yourselves at our place has been tasty over the past couple of seasons, and it seems a couple of your coaches always stop off in Worcester on the way back from away games up north, so its tasty in the town centre until around midnight.

Don't have a problem with it if they seek out those who want it as well - its the dogheads from Wolverhamption who unfortunately hit, kick, throw stuff at kids, women, elderly fans in shirts etc... - basically anything that comes out of the away end at molineux that moves - that I cannnot get my head around, and its that reeason alone I don't go to Wolves any more - just ain't worth the hassle !

Pompey again have always had a following though our relationship with them is great - I really hope, win or lose that afterwards is the same as beforehand, can wish each other well, have a pint and be on on our way back - gutted if lost, ecstatic if won, but either way safe !

Take it you know theres a tube strike starting at 6pm on Sunday 6th - god knows how you're supposed to get away ?!?!??

Anyway, you concentrate on the cup match, rest a few for Tuesday night please - OK ?

We've got 2000 tickets left to members on Monday morning - was only 1 per STH and Member, that accounted for 24000, then to those with booking history of 5 games, then last Friday to anyone on the clubs database who has booked tickets over past 5 years at any point (130000 people) - will sell out tomorrow and Pompey have sold out so gonna be full and noisy - can't wait...
