Hey All/Anyone who finds this thread!

Thought I should do the right thing and post back to say I eventually went with Tesco Finance - £11 for my Wife and I for a 3 day single trip policy. I checked that they cover Marathons.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

Hey All,

Drinks (Other than water) are being supplied by PowerBar this year. I emailed them to find out whats on offer, heres the reply I got:

The products sampled on course are the following:
Drinks sampled on every drink station is our Energize Sports Drink in all 3 flavours (orange, lemon, berry)
There will also be one Gel station around km 30 where all our six PowerBar Gel Flavours (Black Currant, Green Apple, Lemon Lime, Tropical Fruit, Strawberry-Banana, Vanilla)

Not entirely sure what 'Drinks Sampled' means - Perhaps a bad translation?

Anyways - I was impressed with the detailed reply.

Think I'll stock up on gels at 30km and stuff em in my pocket to take home! )

Off for a 5m tonight, 15 miler Sunday...Knee is recovering slowly, just trying to keep the fitness up between now and the race.

Noticed some talk about pens/start times and arrival times - Where did you all find this info? I have my starters PDF - Is it on there?

Cheers, and again - Good luck!

Simon

Russel Drummond - Sorry for delay, not been getting notifications of forum replies.

Yes - It is the one Beetle found:
http://www.scc-events.com/_domains/www.scc-events.com/events/berlin_marathon/pdf/infoBM10_en.pdf

Suggest everyone has a read of this - Well worth it, certainly went some way toward calming my first-timer nerves!

Out for a 13 miler today, longest in 5 weeks due to dodgy right knee. Happy to report went Ok - Still feeling fit, probably limit to 5 mile runs and swimming + cycling between now and the race though.

Not been able to find any info on 'Powerbar Sun Tea' which the drink on offer (other than water). Think I'll stick to water/gels too, unless I can grab a sample at the Expo and try it out Friday afternoon.

Really excited now...trying to calm it down so I'm not too hyper on race-day!! ) 27 Days to go!

Hey All,

Just been  reading through the PDF Marathon guide, which is excellent and well worth downloading/printing.

I have a question - The guide says the drinks stations offer Water, PowerBar and Tea (!?)

Does anyone know what Powerbar product? I would like to try them on a run before the race...just in case of problems...in which case I can then take my own refreshments/fuel.

Tar!

Simon.

PS: Does TEA really mean TEA? Surely no ones going to stop for a nice cuppa mid-race!?
