I entered the very 1st one. I sat out all night outside the PO with my entry ... didn't get in.
After that I decided I wasn't that interested - too congested to get a good time but entered occasionally over the years & didn't get in.
Now i'm slowing down I'm not too bothered about a good time and am more interested in the run. I got in via the ballot last year (wow) and enjoyed it no end (it was my 20th marathon) but I doubt i'll get in again and am not too bothered if I don't. It is good ... but not that good.
the GFA needs looking at anyway. At present the spread is 10years ie 40-49yrs and 50-59 year categories, which is too long really.
Now I don't know about everyone else, but I would be just about good enough to scrape the GFA at the start of each category but a 10yr deterioration is a significant period of time ... as I am starting to realise only too well.
Roll on 60 is all I can say, when I get another 35mins!
