Im in week 11 of my 22 week marathon programme for London and I have now developed a SI injury. Ive been to a chiropractor for an adjustment and have another appointment next week. Ive been told not to run, cycle, swim or do any form of exercise for at least two weeks. Im now starting to worry that I wont be fit enough to run London if this injury keeps me out for more than two weeks.
I am in week 17 of a 22 week marathon programme (Liverpool on October14th) haven't missed a mile until this week (averaging about 35 miles a week at the moment). I have been struck down with a head cold and as most people know it makes you feel like crap. How long should I lay off the running or is it still ok to train with a head cold?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated......
Compeed blister plasters are a god sent, dont bother with the cheaper ones as they dont work. Invest in anti-blister socks, RunBreeze make some great ones, I swear by them. I still get blisters myself but using these two products helps me to carry on training...
Tried the tennis ball and it has helped a little, my calf doesn't seem to be so tight now. There are some good videos on YouTube about using a tennis ball so thank you once again....
After & during any run I do my right calf goes solid. The only thing I can do to help this problem is try and stretch it out. This feels fine for about two minutes then the calf muscle goes back to being soild. I dosent seem to matter how many stretches I do pre or post run this just wont go away!! Any advice would be appreciated....
