Morning - 12 miles cross country this morning. Lots of army activity plus large groups of mountain bikers. Ran through a lovely bluebell wood in full bloom - quite stunning!

The water wasn't too bad at Datchet Lake when I was thgere last week. Much warmer than I expected in fact there was one swimmer doing the 750m course without a wetsuit.

Valis - sounds like a great holiday and plus 1 on the fear of heights!

Morning..

Red wine for me - especially the South American variety!

Pretty standard run this morning but it was cold out for the time of year although at least the snakes will have gone back into hibernation!

Morning..

Out last night for an hour's rucksack run but had to keep stopping for adjustments to the straps as they were chaffing my neck/shoulders and when I'd finally sorted that out I had problems with my ipod and headphones and the velcro strap on my ipod case kept coming undone! Very frustrating! But had a great NW when I came off the trails and saw two deer jogging along in front of me along a residential road totally unbothered by my presence!

Out again this morning for a run around the MOD land at Hankley Common. NW 2 rabbits and 4 magpies!

Poured myself a large glass of beetroot juice when I got home and then knocked it over, causing a flood of the red, staining liquid to spread over the worksurface, floor and everywhere else! Jenny was not imopressed!

PSC - I did a couple of miles barefoot on Hankley Common a few years ago, just on a whim to see how it felt. No problems running on sand and even rocky/gravelly surfaces but gave up when I came to an area littered with fircones! I keep meaning to give it another go but will avoid running under the fir trees next time!

My son bought some minimalist shoes a few weeks ago and loves them. He tried running barefoot last week up on Caesar's Camp and coped okay with the terrain but got some comments as he ran past the local chavs!
