Had my first river swim for two years this evening, hot on the heels of my first sea swim in well over two years, last weekend.
Water was surprisingly warm considering I thought I had lost all my acclimitisation after being out of the water for so long.
I have lost a lot of stamina and strength but I guess they will come back with time and practice. I think I did a little too much this evening and it was a bit scary when I discovered that my leg strength was so poor that I struggled to climb up the river back afterwards.
Anyone remember me? I *think* I might be on my way back to running after a break of at least 2 years.
My health issues are slowly resolving themselves and I am getting my energy back. I still have to be really careful not to overdo things but the good news is that at least I CAN do things now.
I have yet to summon up the courage to give running a go, but I have been for a couple of swims and a very short bike ride. I can't believe how much fitness and strength I have lost but I know that it will come back if I keep at it.
Hello guys. Sorry for the late check in. As some of you are aware, my health still isn't great so I'm not up to taking part myself, but I will be available all day Saturday and the first part of Sunday to heckle *ahem* provide encouragement where ever I am needed. I will also be bringing Mr SC with me.
