Ever the proverbal tortoise I started running back in 2002 to get fit ready to join the police which I did in 2003 - not bad at the age of 40!! Got hooked on running entered competitions to give me the motivation, ran the Silverstone 1/2 marathon in 06 and the FLM in 06 the marathon experience was something that was unbelieveable have entered the ballot every year since - next year I hope to run for Backcare uk on a golden bond place.
why Pick Me?
I'm not an elite runner I do it to help keep fit, beat stress and to get out into the countryside! My FLM time was 6hrs 30seconds and boy do I want to improve on that time!! (I keep thinking "if only I hadn't queued for the loo (10mins) if only I hadn't stopped to chat to a friend in the crowd!) I would of been finished in under the magic 6 hours that now haunts me!
Predicted London Time?
Sub 6hours and hopefully sub 5hours if I get my training right, I would love to have the oppurtunity to get some more speed in my legs at end of FLM I still had some energy but only at my good old plod pace and with the right advice and training I would love to faster, I have just got back to wotk after a back injury and I am returning to running slowly but surely.
did silverstone last year for the first time - so now I have a PB to beat! - as everyone has said before yes its flat and yes it can be a bit of a toil, but I met some really nice folk last year! Also if its windy boy ITS WINDY! think wind chill
Have a good one see you all there I'll be at the back!
hi guys and gals - entered this one for a laugh!! not done a xc comp ever, although do train xc around farm. I'll be the one at the back - if I look like getting lost send out a search party!! _ good incentive to keep going - not knowing way back to car!! See yer all (thinks maybe why so expensive to cover cost of air support!! Nicki
