Definitely the right decision. I was already on the way back to my car when I heard that it had been cancelled. I will be back next year though.

Name: BigMunnki

Running History : Started to run in my early 20's having played rugby before. Quickly lost quite a lot of weight and improved rapidly. I went through a cycle of training for a big race, getting fit, and then practically giving up for 6 months or more. I set my PBs of 80 minutes for a half marathon and 2 hours 17 minutes for 20 miles and 3 hours 8 for a full marathon.

In 2000, I moved jobs, and my running stalled a bit and I have never really got back into it in the same way. In the last eight years, I have had a go at triathlon, I have usually done a couple mountain marathons a year and recently I have done some one day adventure racing. However, my running has never quite been the same.

Reasons why: So now, at 36, I decide that I want to make a proper comeback. I find that I need to lose a couple of stone in weight but I want to prove to myself before it is too late that if I apply myself, like I used to be able to when I was younger, then I can still run just as fast. I am not ready to be put out to pasture just yet! And I feel that this would provide the motivation that I need!

Predicted time: I would like be able to run a PB (3:08:10) but obviously, when you are in that sort of area, the big aim has got to be 3 hours!

I'm aiming for sub 3 hours and I also have a number of around 55000. This is my third GFA entry and as far as I can remember, last time my running number was not the same as the one on the registration form.
