I had 3 months off running April 2015 due to tear in groin during this time I had physio and sports therapy including massage. I tried to return to running very very slowly but hip kept collapsing on the side of the injury. I backed off again and kept up with physio exercises and added yoga. I started again on a jog/walk program with a mate who was there to hold my hand so to speak. I am now able to run without falling over. Although I still feel very very weak in my hip To the extent when I try to let go downhill I don't run properly I tend to hold back and stiffen up. It's starting to drive me nuts now. I feel like I can't run on my own like I used to. Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I was/am a decent runner.
I have been diagnosed with severe groin strain with no running for 12 weeks to let it heal properly. I've stupidly carried on running and made it worse. I've been told I can cycle and row to keep up my cardio, but can I jump rope or will this make it worse? I find skipping is a great workout for speed.
Running quite normally felt like laces too tight. Stopped and walked. Did the usual Rice and stopped running. Was walking tripped up and heard the crack. Was in severe pain for 3 weeks. Had lots of physio over Xmas/NY and started to take it really steady. Kinda upped my mileage over Jan in a panic for London. It was when I did a half marathon when I started feeling discomfort.
