Tatiana, at nearly £3 a mile for Bath I'd be inclined to spend as long out on the course as possible to get my monies worth!
I would follow a structured training programme such as the FIRST 3+2 schedule (especially if time to train is an issue) or any that you can find on this website. I'd also pick a different course with less runners to give yourself a fighting chance of achieving your full potential.
Fab event. Clocked up 10 laps myself with a 2 man team total of 190km. Thinking of doing it solo next year to see how far I can really push myself!
Had to have a 2 and a half kip at some service station on the way home to Bristol - not even sure where I was, but amazed that I can just about walk down the stairs normally by this evening!
Thanks to everybody for their fantastic support, especially the Malvern Joggers just before the 9km mark. An incredibly supportive environment for the ultra novice; highly recommended - will defo be back next year.
I'm running TR24 for the first time this year...doing it as half of a pair. Here's a question that I've been pondering for a while -
If I was to run more than 5 laps i.e. 30+ miles, does this technically qualify me as an ultra runner even if I take a laps rest between each of mine while my team mate is running his laps?
I'd welcome the thoughts of all you forumites....Hopefully not too controversial!
Surprised to see that no Innov-8 sacks were on test given their apparent popularity and availability in all good running shops. I know that RW couldn't test all packs that are available but seems strange to have left these out... Any particular reason why?
