I have to say it is a silly system. The ballot should be open for a specific time period irrespective of numbers. I will be especially aggrieved if there were no places left as I have been rejected the last three times, so only need to enter the ballot and get rejected two more times to definitely get in. The fact that they last year stopped taking entries when they reached 100,000 meant the ballot places went within a week. If it was open to say end July I am sure the system would not have crashed. |

Grumlethegoat, Well if you have sent an entry form in, you have effective entered the lottery. There are roughly 20,000 places available for the general public after taking into account GFA, charity and club places. In most years about 100,000 entries receive, so chances of getting in are roughly 1 in 5, hence the fact that it is refered to as a lottery. |

Well what's the likelihood that the Switzerland South Korea game will be a 2-2 Draw? I think I am right in saying that if Switzerland beat Togo tomorrow, that score would be enough to get both of them through at the expense of France no matter how many goals they score in their last game.

| Yeah I think I might do this. Never done a 5 mile before so definitely will get a PB. I also seem to be getting the benefits of my London Marathon training at the moment, so really want to do as many races as possible whilst in form. |

Did the half. Managed to get round some 6 mins quicker than last year in 1 hour 41 mins, and about 10 seconds quicker than I did Sheffield last Sunday. Both pb's, so seem to be getting the benefit of my London Marathon training. Overall I thought the weather conditions were not too bad for running, as not too hot and not too much wind. However conditions underfoot were pretty bad with lots of puddles. I started trying to avoid them, but in the end my feet got so wet that I just ran through them. Was a bit of a gamble with some of them as they looked quite deep. Once again thanks to Matlock Athletic club for organised a wonderful event. Many thanks also to all the smiling volunteers who cheered you on at various places on the course. |
