Well done for those who got into London. Not me but never mind. GFA attempts well done!
Hi John The honest answer is probably not at the moment. You clearly have/had pace but suspect you need more long runs for a mara. However its a balance I am no longer sub 4 simply because I do to many and want to join the 100 club. (and to heavy) I would recommend the FIRST programme as you run quicker than on most but not as far/often
Me well Snowdon on Saturday was number 17 of the year and TOUGH. Ive lost about 20 minutes this year but have no regrets. I turned 50 in October so next year want to try and do the centurian mini slam (4 x 50 milers) but have a few logistic issues to sort
Welcome LOGIC nice half where do you live? you must be close to me (Grantham) doing Newark and Nottingham. My first sub 4 came in the same way on the old Newark half route. Just read your comments about time training. I now do ultras so any questions just ask. Last year I did a 100 miler with 50 miles as the longest I had done. Past 5 hours I think its more about the head than the body at this level (elite different) and you risk arriving at start tired. Nottingham has pace makers USE THEM. Last year sub 4 runner did 3.59.57!
JCG Brilliant IM
IKLE Keep the faith you will get there running when you should be resting/sleeping is a LOT harder I know
me well think sub 4 is well off but doing 3 maras in the last month is never going to help. Up to 76 now so 3/4 of way to target. Its a while off as not going to chase and best guess id 2018 but I will keep you all informed as would be very special if 1 or 2 of you could be there
From my experience martin would agree. On both my comrades really did not want anything from half way but forced it down but on the 100 took my "picnic" with me after every aid station which was sausage rolls etc and was more than ready every time.
Seabank marathon sunday not even going to have a watch ascoff road and dunes and styles. Really looking forward to it. Also doing the not the rio marathon on Olympic park 21st Aug with the finish inside the velodrome. Never got any tickets at the time so should be good if expensive
Went and watched more tired than running it. My super speedy niece was 6th in london and 19th overall in mini marathon so proud. Really intresting to see how the numbers built as time went so many sub 3!!!!!!!!
