Hi folks, just thought I'd chime in as www.beyondgoinglong.co.uk is my site.
No marketing or evil intentions to get you to visit, I'm just a one man who loves triathlon as a sport and writing and put the two together. In 9 months so far there have been no ads and I certainly don't make any money from your visit!
It's great that the competition has caught the eye of so many people as its been nice to introduce it to more people. My mission for the site is to cover ld and ultra tri in more depth, providing coverage and exposure for British and Irish athletes and elite ag and provide more coverage of domestic events. I'm also hoping it is a useful resource for triathletes who might enjoy learning about events and from the elites out there.
So no 'judges', no massive marketing departments working out ways to make money from you, no computer geeks setting up clever polls that block multiple polls... Just a keen fan who wants to open up the achievements of 10 fab performances to a wider audience and someone who gets a thrill out of writing and seeing people read their work.
Once you've done this, if you could go the extra mile and ask your friends, family, work colleagues to also vote for Beyond Going Long I would be so grateful. Perhaps you could share it on Facebook, Twitter, your blogs, club pages or your favourite forum.
Beyond Going Long focusses on British and Irish long distance triathlons – covering not only the headline making athletes competing in Ironman and Challenge Henley, but also all the domestic long course events and the elite age-groupers competing in them.
The site has a mission to support events organisers, professionals, race teams and elite age-groupers competing at the longer distances by providing more in-depth coverage and reporting than any other site in the UK. In the last 9 months I have published over 50 original interviews ranging from our World Champion Leanda Cave to age-group winners at the Midnight Man, published race news, previews and reviews, carried sponsor news and much more.
I am a big fan of the other triathlon sites out there, so I mean no disrespect by asking you to help support the site, but it really would mean the absolute world to me if you could take some time to vote and recognise the site.
