Thanks Tom. Perhaps I'll do a bit of both, cancel some events but continue to train as long as it feels OK. I've had a few DNFs over the last two years as a result of this injury but at least it's a relief to know exactly what's causing it now.

I've just been diagnosed with a torn medial meniscus by MRI (original injury February 2010). I'm now waiting to see a specialist. I am a marathon/ultra runner and ran a trail marathon last weekend without immediate symptoms but now have soreness again. Do I stop running until I've seen the specialist or do I carry on training and participating? I've had intermittent problems since the original injury but it clearly hasn't healed.

Too soon for 2012 but thinking seriously about 2013. Seems only six signed up so far. Very expensive coming up to Christmas!!

I think it was 38. I don't think Christian started.

Pulled out at CP2. Some paths were very slippery after downpour and I had problems with leg injury. I only know of three other runners stopping at CP2 or before. When we left CP3 at 05:45 this morning 13 runners had already gone through. Good luck to everyone and hope rain holds off. Thanks to all CP staff for excellent service.
