One XC race completed on the 25th followed by a 10k on the 4th (Was well over 10k though). Not very fast on either races as i was suffering from a cold. Got 3 more XC races before Christmas and another 10k (hilly) on the 22nd November. Will use these as tempo runs and possibly go for a 10M race in December to see where my fitness is.
Two more members of the club have entered Paris so plenty of people to train with even though they are slightly faster than me
Looking out for a spring half and there does not seem a lot about around by us. Dont want to far to travel has my mum is already having the kids for us when we go to Paris .Maybe looking at doing Coventry on the 28th Feb but cannot commit to it yet has Mrs Eskimo works shifts and not sure of her shifts for new year untill Christmas.
No rush to enter yet has im still trying to organize some races for this year (apart from killing myself doing cross country).
only carry a drink on long runs. I have a bottle belt that holds two bottles (Only ever take one bottle as really suffered on a long fell run once carrying two). It has a couple of pockets that I will take gels with me and some small snacks for emergencies. its very old but it never moves around like some I have tried.
No diet changes before or during training. Hopefully will lose a little bit of the ballast during the next 6 months .
Will try and get used to running with a water bottle which could be discarded when finished at Paris. London is a nightmare as everyone tries to go to the first table they see for a drink. Are the drinks in Paris in bottles or cups?
Tend to find jelly beans to dry to eat whilst running. Should have plenty of time to experiment before Paris.
Apart from water stops every 5k do they have any sports drinks as well and if so which ones.
Mixing the gels beforehand seems like a good idea, might give that a try on my long runs but I dont really want to carry a bottle during the race
