I did the 50k here back in 2010 and enjoyed it, weather was great then too. This time i'm running the marathon. If i recall, there were Mars bars at one of the checkpoints

We rarely check out the cover pic but this was so alarmingly bad it took our attention, for the amount they charge for the magazine you'd have thought they would do a better job, even my 10 yr old can do better than that.

Should rename the magazine Tranny's World, after seeing that she-man with those shaved feminine legs ! He even looked as camp as a row of tents !

Good luck to one and all !

T-Rex,  I still hadn't forgotten about that incident, running back to the checkpoint was easy, it was running all the way back uphill to get to you which was the hard part, shame they've ditched the event now. I think it may have been my 3rd ultra at the time. I've come to realise after racing a 50k that i'm not so good on the longer races, so a marathon is far enough for me these days

FL,  Cheers mate, just as long as you don't expect me to run back to the start line for you if you've forgotten to attach your timing chip when we're 10 miles into the race

My chest is clearing up now, but i've had to miss 6 days of tapering with rest, i'll be going into this with fresh legs but not knowing what to expect, and i haven't even had chance to break-in my new racing flats either, but then again, my PB for a marathon was in a pair of shoes straight out of a box so that doesn't concern me much.

Hi    T-Rex,

Yes, i'm still alive and kicking, i don't run so many marathons or ultra's these days, i've been doing more of the shorter stuff. Next year i'll be doing less road and more track so i'll be even more elusive. Will look out for you at Abo

Corpse Reviver, i remember that from the Dartmoor Discovery. It was in the course instructions i believe.

flat Red Bull, and a Pro-Plus does it for me

Hi    Mick n Phil,

I've been staying out of the sun since the Boddington marathon disaster.

Been dogged with a chest infection for the past week or so, but still hoping i can get fit to make the starting line up in time, 2 failed attempts at running this week so just going to rest up until the weekend.

Hope to see you both there
