Ah, thanks for that Captain. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the price dropping.

I'm considering upgrading from my Forerunner 50 to a shiny new Forerunner 310xt.

Does anyone know whether or not the HR strap and footpod from my FR 50 will be able to be paired with the FR 310xt.

I'm not too fussed about the HR strap as I don't often look at that data. I do however run on a treadmill when the weather is particularly bad so the ability to use the footpod to record distances and speeds would be good.

Anyone done this in the past?

Hi Ratzer, thanks for the reply.

I'm looking to alter the plan due to my previous marathon experience. I used the plan, pretty much as it's written for London in 2010. I ended up not getting anywhere near my goal though for a variety of reasons. After a bit more research I decided to make a few changes. I got half way through an amended version last year but then I had to get my appendix out which scuppered the rest of my training. At the time though my training was going excellently.

I like the general feel of the plan. 5 days a week running is just about right for me and I like how the step-back weeks are incorporated. I also want a bit more intensity with a view to getting faster though.

In terms of the taper i've always felt that a full 3 weeks is just a bit too long for me. I will however caveat that by saying that I don't feel I've ever worked as hard as I could in the weeks previous to the taper.

I know I'm still a long way off from having to get any of this finalised but I want to start now so that I at least have an idea of what the plan is going to look like.
