My wife asked me how my first marathon went and asked me if i'd ever do nother when we were sitting down having a picnic in the runners village.
I cannot repeat what I said on hear without being banned.
But a few days later and guess what?
I'm looking at doing the Wolverhampton Marathon in September so I can beat my Edinburgh time by at least 30 minutes...
Then HOPEFULLY I will get a congratulations magazine in October for London.
Are you thinking?
Well done you. Fantastic time even if you struggled the last few.
What a great weekend for myself and the family.
Before I waffle on about my run I would just like to say what a beautiful city Edinburgh is.
I was very nervous going to the start and getting there was a real pain.
Had to get a taxi in the end 4 miles away and ended up costing me ??17 with all the roads closed. (Think I was robbed).
My Run was good for me but I know I can do better.
My first mile took 14 minutes as I was desperate for the loo and had to queue for ages.
In the end I managed 5:14 which I will take as it was my first.
I know I can do better and will do at my next one.
I also thought the organisation was spot on and the crowds were fantastic.
The last thing I will mention was the topic of running with mp3s.
I didn't run with mine and glad I never, because the camaraderie I had with fellow runners outweighed my own music by a mile.
