Hi all....I am in the Thames Trot 50. Put together my training plan yesterday. Bring on Feb 1st. I have only done two ultras and both were lapped runs so I can put all my gear in a tent. Will be a challenge running with all my fuel.
I'm in on this. Done two ultras so to speak (ThunderRun and Lightning 12). Both of which were lapped ultras so didn't have to worry about fuelling as could leave my stuff in the tent and collect every lap or so. Let the hard training commence in next month
I have done Manchester, Edinburgh but not Brighton. Out of Edinburgh and Manchester i would choose Manchester. There were problems with timings and i was one of them who had problems but it was sorted (well for me at least). Apart from timings was a brilliant race and nice course. Edinburgh starts in centre but is straight out to coast, after going through Holyrood Park (which is nice), i didnt like the out and back of it after the racecourse which i found hard on a very hot day in 2009 but my running has vastly improved since then. If i had to choose from the marathons i have done (including London) i would choose Paris. Absolutley love it. Cant do that next year as it doesnt fit in with my sons school term times. I'm currently trying to decide on a spring marathon and would ideally want to do one i havent before, shame Brighton is fully booked.
