Hi helly d. Thanks for the advice. Is there anything in between 50 and 85 that anyone would recommend at all, preferably in the South West?

Hi Waccyracer and anyone else who might have done the Ridgeway 85.

What is it like, as i am contemplating doing it as the next stage up from the 50 on route to one day doing a 100

Really enjoyed yesterday managed to get a 7:01, so very happy with that , especially as it was my first attempt at the distance

The thing that really struck home for me yesterday was the completely different atmosphere at an Ultra compared to standard road runs. Everybody was really friendly. Thanks to all the poor soles at the checkpoints ,as it must have been a hell of a long day for them in those conditions.

Hats off to you guys that survived the snow and dark as that has got to be a challenge in itself!!

Thanks for the advice on the taping. As I have never had a need to do this before, would surgical tape be the correct assumption on best tape to use?

Hi - Glad to hear that outside assistance is allowed as wife and kids are coming to support all day

On the shoe front, I assume we can allows take road and trail shoes and change then on the way round if required?

Also want to ask for some advice on managing blisters. I have never suffered from these in the past , but recently when covering over marathon distance I have either started to get a hot spot or a full blown blister on my big toe . I was wondering whether to try and tape up the toe from the start or to wait until the heat starts and tape it then?
