I'm home. Good weekend, only in mk but nice hotel with a pool and sauna. Did bit of shopping yesterday then sat in sunshine by canal with glass of vino. Did a 10k today round one of the lakes. Weather was ideal, bit warm if anything! Bit congested at start but once we had spread out was lovely run. Achilles sore but not dire. 1.02.20 so not pb but not too shabby. Our old neighbours who now live in mk came to watch and then we went back to their house. I had quick shower and we sat and nattered for few hrs. Managed a bit of retail therapy and a nice walk in the afternoon. Now back home feeling much more chilled than when we left.
Well done on your race spence. Sounds tough but you stuck it out and. V respectable time. You may remind me of this next Sunday when I envisage a similar experience in our local half Mara!!
Good day. Arrived at race hq with not much spare time but still managed loo stop.15 min walk to start. Quite a big crowd, around 600. Set off quite slowly as fairly congested but that suited me. Settled in ok and felt good. Weather was kind and underfoot wasn't too muddy. Met a girl from Wellingborough and got chatting around 4 miles in and we stayed together then. Stopped at 5 miles to take a photo as views at top of big hill were fab! Few aches and pains kicked in at 7 miles ish but nothing too drastic. Finish time 1.50.19, 12 minutes faster than last year. Well chuffed. Still very slow but not last. Stopped to refuel with lovely carvery on the way home.
