our open house yesterday was great fun. Lots of people popping in and out, good fun and great to catch up with people. May have over indulged on the chocolate fountain however as felt a tad queasy last night. Think I need a detox. Off today, last minute wrapping etc to do, haircut and run club later.
manic day yesterday so no chance to pop in. Did my 12th different located parkrun in past year so my running goal for year is achieved! It was an off road one. Nice course but glad ground was frozen as could have been very muddy! I've done an article for running club on my year as a parkrun tourist!
Brother and family came down and we took their two off to choose our tree and then they helped decorate. My nephew is 6 , very bright but with an answer to everything! I feel for his older sister, she can't get much peace.
i have a fab shiny PB! As it was new race I wasn't too sure what route was like. Sounded flattish though so I had in back of mind a pb was a vague possibility but unlikely. Great organisation and hq was at uni campus so cafe, plenty toilets and space. Set off steady and breathing settled quickly. Ignored niggly Achilles and pushed on. checked garmin at each mile marker and knew I was doing ok. By 4 miles was trying to do the maths to see what I had to do last mile in to get pb and it seemed I had 2 mins to okay with! Kept going and finished 47.38 , a pb by 1 min 40! Well chuffed! Celebrated with carvery dinner and bit of Xmas shopping!
fab pb spence! Well done! We might be getting a parkrun here . We have got around 5 that I can get to but all over 20-25 mins at least to get to. And another new one in a nearer town planned too. I will be spoilt for choice!
I'm racing today. A new 5 mile road race. Better shift myself as it's 40 min drive and bliddy foggy out there.
