KK Exciting to get a new car - guess you'll be keeping it clean and shiny then?
Welcome home Big G, sorry to hear your running is not going to plan....maybe some strength work for the back might help? I'm finding weekly Pilates class really helpful at the moment. Having said that, seem to have picked up a niggle just inside arch of foot after slow recovery run on Sunday. Will rest/ ice it for couple of days and hope it goes away!
I do agree with Puffsta, but if it helps, when I started back running overweight and feeling embarrassed, I used to drive to an area where I didn't know anyone and then run! or I'd go out on a dark evening! Sounds crazy now, but it helped me at the time. Maybe buy a loose tshirt to wear over your clingy gear? if you can feel at ease with yourself, chances are you'll keep running and the weight will soon drop.
Emmy well done on the quad - fantastic to be able to do 4 in a row, the thought of just 1 is such a huge event to me, thats fantastic running. Not long to go now, so keep healthy!
Mowzer-def an addiction!! Hope you get something special for reaching 250??!!
I met up with Shades today, which was really lovely....thank you for your support and encouragement Shades- it was much appreciated! Was really pleased how it went, as pacing went to plan, despite being near back for first 12m and worrying I was last - but then started to catch up and overtake folk, so felt strong....it was a great confidence booster. Finished in 3:33 and was 1st FV60......BUT....was only one in my age group
Big g glad you're ok but still huge shock to be so close to it all - take care.
Shades I'll be in blue Dursley club vest - I'm the short dumpy one! I'll prob be there about 45 mins before. As it's the last long before taper sets in, I don't want to race it, but thought a progressive on the lines of 12m/+60 secs, 4m/+30 secs, 4m/mp....what'd you think? dont want to get to Paris still tired!
Elastic laces sound interesting, I miss out some of the 'cross overs' on top of foot and do ladder style - I find it helps ease the pressure a bit and stops bruising I was getting.
