Wow Mowzer another fab marathon...don't know how you do them so close together, the fudge obviously helped!
Big g you were brave getting a McDonald's!
S32 hope you're catching up on some quality sleep...looking after 80 youngsters sounds exhausting!
Shades how's the holiday research going? I've done Prague Vienna Budapest as an organised trip - loved the cities - did early morning runs along the river most mornings, it was beautiful. It was full on organised tho, so might be worth a phone call to explore marathon options.
Well - did Bath Half today, and sadly made a hash of it. It was sooo congested this year.....jostling for most of the route. Settled into 9mm as best I could and then blew up at mile 7 - MILE 7 for goodness sake! Never done that before! So, rest of route was just trying to hang on, even stopped at water stations, and finished in 2:09. At least I know where my fitness levels are at the moment!
Think lessons to learn are a) 20m long run week before needs more recovery time, b) need to set off more conservatively c) need to stop living in la la land and be more realistic about what I can actually manage!!!
That's a shame you got a delayed start Heather.....must have been really unsettling.
But the whole race was congested...never opened out, and really hard to maintain even pacing. I was hoping to get a PB - well, big mistake!! Blew up at mile 7... MILE 7!!! Never done that before, it was a killer, and ended up 2:09 instead of the hoped for sub2 - at least I know exactly where my fitness level is up to, not!
