Has anyone had any experience/read any reviews of the g3 GPS sensor for the Polar RS800. I find the watch great for running (and the foot-pod very accurate), but also do a fair bit of cycling and would like to be able to record distance against heart-rate on the bike, map cycle routes and altitude etc.
In particular, I wonder how the data available from the g3 sensor compares with that available from the Garmin range? Also, how good is the GPS sensor - I have the old Garmin 101 which seems to lose the GPS signal every time I run through town/under trees etc. I know that Garmin have improved this on later models, but would not want to splash out a load of money on a GPS sensor that is no better than my existing one!
How/where did you 'find' your Forerunner on your PC once you had connected it? Admitedly I am not the most IT-literate individual on the planet, but I spent an hour yesterday without success. I assumed it would appear as a separate icon under 'My computer', but apparantly not?
With the Tracklogs software, have a look under the 'Help' index at 'Routes'. It took me some time, but I did eventually manage to enter a route on the map, measure it etc. It is worth persevering with!
