GTC - you might also want to check you haven't inadvertantly set the 405 to switch off at a low pace as well as autopause.

one other thing i now do, is turn the gps off once i've finished using the unit, otherwise it spends all the battery power at home searching for satelites that it can't see, and its dead when i want to run.

where is the actual start of this race? for some reason i can't get the link on the website to work. Is it the Park and Ride site on the Old Portsmouth Road?

not running but supporting a few friends, ran Doyen last week and feel its time for a sunday morning hang-over instead of the usual run.

As my first marathon it was a mixed bag,

The lack of mile markers had me wondering where on earth i was, helped only in my rudimentary knowledge of east london and knowing i wouldn't be running past Canary Wharf tower which i could see, was my only positive.

my friend and i seemed to miss completely the mini-bus being mentioned, but that could well of been our oversight and lack of planning. So we walked to stratford station to get back to St.Margerets, it amused us to push each other occasionally to ellicit groans of agony.  Didn't quite realise we were finishing in a desert of transport options. We assumed it was London and it would be a bit easier.

and i definitely had a sense of humour failure on those long open stretches into the wind.

Podro - your lovely picture of 2 female athletes, has me worried, is the one in front about to sneeze?
