Okay...cobbles. I am very cobbleadverse after the last 7km of rome (beautiful finish through the old city...unfortunately cobbles all the way completely ruined my ligaments and picked up an injury) anyway...paris cobbled areas:
- down the champs for the start. It's fine here and downhill so all good)
- by the effiel tower. Watch out for these! They're short but there's also a feed station so it's cobbles, water, banana skins and orange peel.
- approx 20m. About 300m of large cobbles. Bit painful at this point but they're not too long.
All in all, cobbles are fine! Just watch your footing around the effiel tower bit.
I HATE cobbles after rome but have done paris 3 times since then. Don't let them discourage you!!!
Hey all, sorry I haven't had time to post but have been lurking and am a regular with the paris marathon thread. We've got a crew heading up and will all be celebrating/comiserating and everything in between at Johnny foxes, 26 bank st, IV1 1QU from 6~. Look out for medals, stool (3 legged variety) flags and general hilarity. Everyone is welcome!! We'll keep an eye on this forum and looks like a few of us will also be at the expo mid afternoon on sat 3~ and for a photo at 7:15 by the buses on sun morning. Look for the flags. If don't see you have a brilliant race!!! It's a lovely marathon with an awesome start. (I was meant to be running but injured my hip so just doing the 10km now. LN was my first marathon in 2007...sooo long ago now).
