I usually run 4 times a week, but due to a new job I am up too early & home too late to make it practical during the week. I am still running weekends but its not enough. I have therefore decided to buy a treadmill so I can get some sneaky runs in before work - I would welcome anyones comments re their experience with treadmill running.
Currently run 20 miles a week (about 4 runs on average)
Overpronator with Mizuno shoes.
I have developed a sprain like pain on the left side of my heal - about the size of a £2 coin. I have tried to run through it but a few hours after a run it is so painful I end up limping. I have tried resting for 3-4 days but it comes back when I start running again.
Thank you so much Debra - I looked up extensor tendonitis and the symptoms are exactly what I have - even the tight niggle from my calf being involved. I should'nt moan because this is my first real injury in 5 years - but it is frustrating not being able to run.
Background - run 20-30 miles a week / overpronator / Brooks Beasts or Saucony / weight 13,10 running for 5 years.
I have developed a sharp sprain like pain in my foot in a patch approximatley 1-2 inches across. It occurs just above the point where the hole would occur for crucifixion (excuse the analogy) - where the top of the foot starts to taper. It seems to go away if I rest & avoid running for 3-5 days - but as soon as I start running it returns again. Initially stiff & then too painful to run again.
I would be very grateful if anybody could give me some pointers.
