The 305 and 405 are water resistant to a certain degree about 1 metre of water I think,so a good soaking from the rain should not be an issue. The 310xt is waterproof up to 50 metres. I had my 305 for 2.5 years with absolutley no problem, and it has been out in all weathers,as with everything I think wear has just worn down the on/off button which I reckon is where the water got in,water is not an issue with them otherwise I do not think. Cleaning off the pins on the back where you charge it is a must though as this is where water can erode them but other than that the 305 is brilliant,do not know a lot about the 405 so cannot vouch for that little beast. |

SG.Was thinking about investing in some expensive Senheisser sport headphones when these ones go tits up,supposed to be waterproof etc, etc. My Garmin is working in the charger cradle and like yours just goes off when I take it off, sounds a similar sort of problem,it could be that moisture has got inside, which with mine is the case I think. Good luck with the 10k on Saturday, without reading back over everything,is this a fast one? Philip.....I think that is the sort of price I paid for my girlfriends 305,got it on Amazon when they had a special on,the 205 is worth considering if you are not bothered with HRM...... |

I will give Garmin a call then I think before I do anything, thanks bus/sawney. I bought my girlfriend a 305 for her birthday which she has now lost,in the meantime, glad I did now... Thats a good price busboy, you always worry if you buy almost new gadgets ,it is always a risk,at least with amazon you have piece of mind. Good weeks mileage bus, glad to see you are back into the swing of things. Ipods and headphones I have spent so much money on SG,have had my ipod touch for 6 months now,a bit of a record for me..... |

Hi Guys good to see everyone is racing and training well. I have been pretty busy with work and training of late so have not posted on here for a while. SG- My Garmin died last week,I had the 305,about 2.5 years old so had a good innings,I think in the end it had one soaking too many and the on/off button wore away,it now will not switch on at all, although it will activate when it is on the charging cradle. If anyone knows of any fixes please let me know? Is the 405 waterproof? Would like to invest in the 310XT as my next one,I think I read Busboy has just ordered one,did you get a good deal bus? |
