Fefe the Geek weekend was Birmingham way. Garr was keen to go and see the Golden Dragon (I think that's what it was called) painting competition display. I't impossible not to be impressed by it. They are very intricate and beautifully painted.
Seren, it is a cit of a commitment, because he'll want to collect his army and it won't end there, but I think it's a nice hobby to have. They put a lot of work in and it's very absorbing. Garr loves it. You can bring your boy to see Garr's collection sometime if you like. Firestorm games in Cardiff have gaming evenings and weekend tournaments that are quite good fun I think.
Yes the book is brilliant. Hard to get going with, in te beginning I seriously disliked all the characters but it soon becomes gripping, I couldn't put it down. I read it a while back and as far as I can remember the film didn't stray too far from the book. But I can't remember exactly.
We got up bright and early this morning and went kayaking in the Wye valley. Really beautiful. We started paddling not long after sunrise. I'm more used to sea kayaking than river so I was a bit nervous at first, but it was fantastic. My poor weedy arms have had a battering though. I really need to work on my upper body strength.
Cooking a big Sunday roast now. Got all my kids and my girls boyfriends for dinner. It's nice having a houseful!
