Pondering whether it would be absolute insanity to double this with the Lancaster Castle Marathon on the Sunday which I had entered before the Picnic date was announced. Having completed three Picnics, I wouldn't want to miss this, but suffered particularly badly last year. Will have a good think about this...

Another one worried about the 6.5 miles cut-off after running Beachy Head today. My legs feel trashed at the moment after a tough run today, and will hope they loosen up tomorrow! Good advice earlier in the thread about pacing and not getting carried away in the first half, and I will try and follow this tomorrow (if I can haul my aching body to the start line). Good Luck to everyone running this, particularly you mad doublers!

Great marathon. The organisers planned a brutal but fantastically scenic route. My only grumble is the distance which came up on my garmin as a mile short (25.18 miles) - which seemed to coincide with most others I spoke with afterwards. I know that with garmins there should be a margin of tolerance, and a trail marathon as twisty and as undulating as this one is notoriously difficult to measure accurately. However, as a marathon for me is all about the distance, if there is any element of doubt the course should be measured to be overdistance. Before anyone asks, I did the 2km loop and got the ink mark on my hand to prove it!! Otherwise, a brilliant day of trail running in a glorious place.

I'm also in - can't wait after missing last year's event due to pulled hamstring. Wrecklessly decided to double it with Greensands Marathon, but at least have plenty of time to get in some sort of shape.
