I've signed up for Bolton and currently have a carbon road bike. Was thinking about getting a time trail bike for the IM but can only really afford a second aluminium bike. I'm new to cycling so didn't know if the light weight carbon road bike would be slower than a heavier aluminium bike but with a more aerodynamic position? I've heard people talk about some rides being too technical for a TT bike but don't really know what that means.
I do know how quick the bike is depends how you quick you pedal!!
Great news with another track marathon on the agenda, shame no on-line entry but assume this keeps costs down?.
Looking forward to it, have to have a look at Rutland as never heard of it before. Two in 2 days my not be the best idea before the Drids challenge the week after
Would love to know more about the 6 day event Pam.
Real shame about the marathon going this year though, is that likely to be a permanent change back to the 6hr and 12 hr with no marathon? I've encouraged a few to give a track marathon a try but with many of my running friends doing Brighton, London or both then a 6hr run may prove too much for them at that stage of the year
I'll be aiming at about the 3:30 mark I think but will know doubt find myself running at 3:00 pace for the first lap and then dying quickly after! I'll be wearing a Ireland running vest, probably start off around 3:00 pace but really will be between 3:15-3:30 as training has been awful since Luton marathon.
Has anyone had communication around race numbers etc? I have recieved nothng but have got m race confirmation e-mail. I presume we register on the day hence no number recieved yet. Has anyone got any details? Also I can't seem to find the post code of the sports club for the start, any ideas?
