Can anyone recommend a good (budget!) turbo trainer?! Just want to keep my fitness up at home whilst my hubby is away and I'm stuck at home with the kids.... |

Hi guys, i'm doing my first sprint triathlon on Sunday and i've been looking forward to it all summer, as luck would have it i've woken up today with a bad head cold and i'm really bunged up. I'm determined to still do it and i know i'll be fine on the bike and run, but i'm really concerned about the swim (my weakest discipline by far at the best of times!) Does anyone know if there are any rules against doing backstroke? I just don't see how i am going to be able to do freestyle with all the breathing problems i'm having!) Its in a swimming pool. Advice would be most welcome |

great thread guys, started my 12 week training plan for my first sprint tri this week and really excited about it! Having group swimming lessons so front crawl improving (starting from zero with it really!) although struggling with breathing still. I'm on hybrid bike, but its nearer a mountain bike really and really need to get a road bike asap! The plan is to go to a bike shop, pick one i like, then try and get it on ebay or the like! Been running for a few years with 2 marathons and a 2hr 3min half under my belt, so comfortable with the running! I have a fairly supportive hubby, although he does think i'm a bit nuts...... |

2013 out of the question for me really, I'm climbing kilimanjaro next summer which is costing me a small fortune! And I'm 30 in 2014 so would be pretty awesome to do IM in my 30th year! Feel everyones pain re fitting in training. Full time city job and 2 live in step kids. Hubby is gonna have to be mega supportive!!

I'm doing my first tri in September, although i've caught the training bug and am thinking of booking one in earlier! Need to learn to swim properly though. Lessons start next week! After reading Ironholgs' book (in pretty much one sitting!) I'm considering IM in 2014, the year i turn 30. Will see how i get on over the shorter distances! x |
